New Earrings...

Here are a couple of newer earrings that I've been working on. They are set to be up on the site once it's really up and running.

Juliet is approximately 4 inches long! They are made of gold-filled chain, gold-filled hook ear wires, green turquoise, chrysoprase and abalone.

Caribbean Sea is approximately 3 inches long. Gold-filled chain, gold-filled hook ear wires, carnelian, blue Peruvian opal and turquoise.

Jules is approximately 2 inches long. Gold-filled chain, gold-filled French hoop ear wires, amethyst, blue Peruvian opal and rainbow moonstone.

All of these can be converted to sterling silver, but somehow I just happened to post pictures of them in gold-filled today. It must be because I'm looking out the window wondering where the golden sunshine is at!

Hope you enjoyed these mini descriptions and pictures. These are just a few things to look forward to on the site!!!

Tour de France

So, it's already been, what, about four days since the end of the Tour de France? I've got to say that I kind of miss it. Congratulations to Lance Armstrong, of course, and everyone else who dared and challenged themselves to the torture of hours of riding at speeds that I don't even see some people driving their cars at!!! These guys are on their bikes for about 23 days (21 stages worth) and so, so, so many miles. Hills, mountains, flats-you name it, they ride it!

I've been watching the Tour since about 2000 and have only known Lance Armstrong to be the yellow jersey winner. I didn't know much about cycling back then, but have slowly learned about how the sport works and have really come to appreciate it. My husband, his brothers and friends all ride and follow this event year after year and look forward to all of the excitement this sport has to offer. I, too, have started looking forward to the month of July when the Tour is on. This year, OLN showed each day's stage about 3 times per day. We had the routine of taping it and watching and simply enjoying what was happening on the screen before us. Aside from the amazing athleticism of the cyclists, you also get a glimpse of beautiful scenery. Aaaah, what it must be like to be in the middle of it all!

Anyway...I'm just saying that it really is something to see (the Tour). Even if you don't ride a bike, or even own one, you will sit there in awe of what the human body can do. Can't wait until next July!

The World of Blog...

Okay, so I'm a first-time blogger---so, please forgive me! The purpose of me writing will be to provide updates of what I'm working on with the site and, well, maybe just some other things that are running through my head. I know, I know...that can be scary!!!

On a Friday is a one-woman operation and I am the owner/designer. I make jewelry, greeting cards, scrapbooks, and some other fun stuff. I am from Honolulu, Hawaii and my site is being worked on right now by the wonderful Lindsay of Lindsay Designs (www.lindsaydesigns.net). She really is the best and has been extremely patient with me. I attempted to create a site on my (twice, at least) and it just didn't work out. Lindsay has taken her time with me and has answered all of my crazy questions, too. So, if you're looking for someone to help design your site you should contact her. Also, check out her site (listed above or use the link to the right) because she makes some really cool and beautiful things. It's just a matter of time before I have to place an order!!!

Finally...thanks for reading this blog. I hope to share some interesting things with you and will let you know the progress of the site. Check back for the "Grand Opening Sale" to see what we have to offer.
